Partnerships and Collaboration – Core to Safety21
Collaboration has been a distinguishing aspect in the past three UTCs led by CMU. We cannot overstate how much collaboration means to the quality and real-world value of our research, workforce development, and technology transfer. The relationships among the academic and 190+ public, non-profit and private consortium partners extend nationally while continuing to focus on our philosophy of research, development, and deployment.
The relationship the UTC has established with its Deployment Partner Consortium membership has grown significantly and is now the lifeline for continuing our UTC deployment efforts. Deployment Partners are utilized for identifying real-world transportation needs, research project development and deployment, technology licensing and commercialization, student recruitment for jobs and internships, and class and capstone projects.
