TRAFFIC21 STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT, 2020 – 2021
Oscar Medina is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Public Policy & Management program at Heinz College. He is from San Diego, California and his background is in active transportation. His undergraduate degree is in Public Administration-City Planning from San Diego State University. After college, Oscar worked in private consulting and later at a smart growth and mobility advocacy nonprofit. Immediately before coming to CMU, he worked at an environmental justice organization where he advocated for regional policies that reduce harmful emissions in disadvantaged communities. Oscar is a transit enthusiast and is excited to start using the local system in Pittsburgh more and more as the pandemic subsides.
