Safety21 Celebrates UTC Student of the Year at CUTC Banquet
Safety21 celebrated its UTC Student of the Year, Kevin Freymiller (Carnegie Mellon University), at the Council of University Transportation Center (CUTC) Annual Awards Banquet. Kevin is a fifth-year PhD Candidate at Carnegie Mellon University, in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Meet the RISS 2025 Safety21 Scholar William Muckelroy III
As a 2025 Safety21 Scholar in CMU’s Robotics Institute Summer Scholars (RISS) program, Will worked on developing improved solutions to challenges faced by autonomous driving systems, making them more cost-effective and improving their performance using 4D Radars with a Neural Network. Safety21 Student Wins 2025 ICS Student Paper Award
Safety21 PhD student Hao Hao (Carnegie Mellon University) recently received the 2025 ICS Student Paper Award. Hao, who works closely with Professor Peter Zhang, developed theory for robust, safe, and efficient optimization algorithms for vehicle autonomy.
