Smart Safety Connection Seminar
We invite you to join us for our Smart Safety Connection Seminar on Friday, October 13 at 12:30pm with Rachel Burcin, Vishwas Mruthyunjaya and Chip Abramovic, who will be discussing “Promoting Equity and Student Participation in Robotics Graduate Programs: Policy Recommendations.”
Science and technology (S&T) play a vital role in innovation, economic growth, and national security. The US faces increased global competition for talent and declining domestic student enrollment in STEM graduate programs. With this in view, the US Federal Government is making historic investments in science, technology, and tech-led growth. However, the US White House notes that new investments rarely “translate to equitable results for all peoples and communities without sustained, intentional effort.” Combined, achieving higher US student participation rates and increased equity may appear to be insurmountable challenges. This talk presents PA student participation in robotics graduate programs and proposes policy recommendations to address gaps.
