As a 2025 Safety21 Scholar in CMU’s Robotics Institute Summer Scholars (RISS) program, Will worked on developing improved solutions to challenges faced by autonomous driving systems, making them more cost-effective and improving their performance using 4D Radars with a Neural Network. Post-RISS, Will is continuing to collaborate with his mentors to prepare the project for submission to IEEE’s International Conference in Robotics and Automation (ICRA) and exploring further possible advancements within the field.
Safety21’s support enabled Will to participate in RISS, reinforcing his commitment to a Ph.D. in robotics and AI to advance safety in autonomous systems.
