Safety21 attended the 103rd Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, where they were able to view over 200 exhibits, sessions, and workshops throughout the event. Highlights from the event include:
- U.S. Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg, alongside U.S. Department of Transportation Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology Robert Hampshire among others who spoke at the lectern session, “Achieving Vision Zero: Advances in Roadway Safety.”
- Safety21 Advisory Council member Jane Lappin of Blue Door Strategy and Research, who discussed “Comparing Apples to Apples: Finding Agreement on Comparing the Crash Record of Automated Driving Systems and Human Drivers.”
- Greg Barlow, software architect for CMU spinout company Miovision Technologies, Inc., who presided over the “Traffic Signal Systems Technology and Standards Subcommittee.”
- A Safety21 networking event, which was host to several Safety21 researchers and students.
