While Cruise vehicles remain on the streets of Austin with someone in the driver’s seat, other companies are still testing their self-driving cars in the city.
As a result, Austin’s Downtown Commission says they now have a new dashboard to track incidents involving all autonomous vehicle operations.
Residents can now call 311 to report any issues to city leaders, who will then pass on those reports to the car companies and the Texas Department of Transportation. But some officials aren’t happy with the idea that city workers will have to do the work for driverless companies…
The dashboard will be updated weekly and sort data by incidents that block traffic, ignore directions from Austin police, and more.
