Sarah Fox and Nikolas Martelaro, Safety21 UTC researchers and Human-Computer Interaction Institute at CMU faculty members, presented findings from their Safety21-sponsored research at the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission Transportation Operations and Safety Forum. Their talk, “Considerations on Human-Automation Teaming in the Future of Transit Workforce,” highlighted key recommendations from their recent policy report on the impacts of automation on public transit, particularly as it relates to the role of bus operators.
